Sara Ann Apartments

Sister to the Charlotte Rose Apartments is the Sara Ann. It was completed in the same year of 1927 but one will notice the differences in the details of the building on the exterior. It is uniquely clad in a dark brick and has a more elaborate façade in keeping with its Italianate style. This is a three story building comprised of spacious 1 bedrooms and studios.

Sara Ann’s hallways have been recently renovated to feature a beautiful color palate of Northwest hues. Woodwork has rich faux work to mimic the original trim color. New lighting creates and intimate glow to light the way to your door. The entry tile has been exposed to show the original warm yellows and gold from the early 20th century. Special attention has been given to the brick details at the front of the property to highlight the unique effects past masons used.

Once inside you’ll find original hardwood floors in the living room and bedrooms. French doors open to some spacious closets or lead into halls. Armoires adorn the halls of the huge one bedroom apartments and dressing rooms add excellent storage space for the studios. Most kitchens feature the original cabinetry and some have the quaint china hutches prevalent in many vintage apartments. Baths are tiled and have deep porcelain tubs.

We gladly accept cats in all the apartments at Sara Ann. Renter’s insurance is required.

Sara Ann is located approximately ½ block from NW 23rd. This offers great access to the regaled Alphabet shops and excellent eateries! As it is in an established residential area of Northwest Portland the scenery is replete with Craftsman and Victorian architecture of the old Portland homes. The landscape is lush with a variety of trees creating a foliage canopy that changes with each season. Pick any time of year and you will find reasons to love living in the Sara Ann.
